Earn an AQA accreditation in Habitat Management and Community Engagement

The Natural Estatescourse is an ongoing programme that seeks to give 16-24 year olds valuable skills in creating and managing green spaces for the benefit of local wildlife. Activities include, but are not limited to, building bird and bat boxes, making raised flower beds, wildlife gardening and general grounds maintenance.

This is an excellent opportunity to learn transferable skills, as well as to gain an AQA Accreditationin Habitat Management and Community Engagementupon completion of 8-12 sessions. A working reference can also be provided to those participants who complete the course.

All sessions are ongoing and take place in Lynworth Court, Cheltenham and are run in association with Cheltenham Borough Homes. There is also the possibilty of away days to work on one of the local wildlife reserves. Natural Estates has a rolling programme, with no specific start or end date and all sessions taking place on Tuesdays 10.0-12.30. Free to come along to a taster session and see if this course is right for you.

So far the team has been busy doing some grounds maintenance, weeding the borders to make way for the spring bulbs we planted. Additionally, bird boxes and a new raised planter have been built and installed on site. Future plans are in place to create a community vegetable plot that can be accessed by the residents of Lynwourth Court.
