Event details

22 April 2017 - 10:00am - 4:00pm

Join West Berkshire’s local “Bat Man” to learn more about bat species, conservation and behaviour.

James will teach you all you need to know about bats and will show you one or more of the sites he is using within the Living Landscapes project for BBOWT.

Weather permitting there may be a chance to join in with mist netting in the evening. The course aims for participants to learn about:

  • Bat biology and ecology
  • Bat Conservation
  • Bats and the law
  • Bat ID, calls and live/dead species identification (if available)

There will be an option to join James for some ‘mist-netting’ nearby in the evening. This starts 30 mins before sunset and continues until late, but you can leave whenever you want. There are pubs and shops nearby to get some food before the mist netting.

Please indicate your interest in the mist-netting (weather permitting) when booking.

Full details and directions will be emailed with your booking.  Please Note: booking for this course will close at 5pm on Wednesday 19th April
