Become a water vole surveyor...

The water vole is Britain's fastest declining wild mammal and has disappeared from many parts of the country where it was once common.

HMWT are working hard to save the water vole by improving riverbank habitats, controlling mink and being involved in water vole reintroduction schemes. Volunteers are needed to help with monitoring populations.

Join HMWT's Water Vole Conservation Officer, Martin Ketcher, to learn more about water voles and how to complete a water vole survey. This will not be an opportunity to spot a water vole as we will be looking for signs of their activity along the river bank.

Spaces are very limited and so please only apply if you are interested in becoming a water vole surveyor.
