27 April 2017 - 5:00pm - 8:00pm
Playing outside is important for children as it helps to develop a connection with nature, encourages better self-esteem and is something children remember fondly their whole lives. Building Confidence to Take Your Children Outdoors course will inspire you to take your little ones out into nature to explore, learn and play. You will come away with lots of fun, safe activity ideas to try out on your next outdoor adventure. Whether you are a teacher, a Brownie/Cub leader, a child minder or a parent, there will be something for you.
You will discover a range of simple, cost effective and fun activities and games that can be played outdoors with little or no equipment. Be inspired to introduce your little ones to wildlife and wild places and have fun learning.
In this creative and entertaining course you will:
- Learn how to inspire young children outdoors with little or no equipment or expense.
- Gain ideas of how to help children to experience wildlife and wild places using all of their senses.
- Have an opportunity to relax, leave adulthood behind for a few hours and explore a wild place.
- The whole course is taught outside by Milton Locks Community Education Officer Jess Daish-Miller discovering fun things to do like beach combing and mini boat making at our Milton Locks reserve.
At the end of the course you will receive a printed list full of ideas and activities explored during the course and links to useful websites will be provided.
This course is offered at the subsidised rate of £10 as part of the Milton Locks project which is funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
