Bluebells in Lead Wood by Jim Lambeth

Event details

20 May 2017 - 10:00am - 12:00pm

Join us for a guided walk around Lea Wood, one of the best examples of ancient woodland in the area.

Wild daffodils and bluebells flower here, while heather and bilberry grow on the upper slopes.

Come and enjoy the wonderful spring flowers that will be in full bloom at this time of year and get the chance to learn about Lea Wood's previous industrial activities, such as charcoal-burning, which DerwentWISE Project archaeological excavations have uncovered.

Please note that the terrain in the wood is steep in places.
