Event details

14 October 2017 - 10:00am - 4:00pm

This day will look at native trees in their autumnal colours. We will use the foliage and fruits to help us identify them.

An irresistible season to turn our attention to the broad-leaved trees. We shall use autumn foliage and fruits to identify these important members of our natural heritage. This day is suitable for beginners and all those who love trees but do not feel confident at identifying them. No previous knowledge will be assumed.

The morning will be spent in Tyland Barn classroom, sorting through specimens and getting to grips with the terminology of the different shapes of leaves and the structure and classification of fruits. We shall also use different keys to identification.

Depending on weather conditions, most of the afternoon will be spent outside in the nature park putting into practice what has been covered earlier.
