First in a series of short walks to discover the beauty of mosses. Join Peter Creed for a look at the incredible variety of mosses to be found at Warburg Nature Reserve. Can be muddy in places. Magnifying glasses and hand lenses will be provided, but bring your own if you have them.

Given the unpredictable nature of our weather, please wear sturdy boots or wellingtons and if it is raining, waterproof clothing.

Access details:Meet at reserve car park. 4 miles north-west of Henley-on-Thames from A4130 turn into Bix village. Take a left turn into Rectory Lane. At bottom of steep hill turn left, following sign to Bix Bottom. Follow the lane up the valley until you reach surface car park on the right.

Terrain/distanceVariable; most steep paths with loose flint, flat grassy path; muddy in valley bottom after rain; gates. Rest benches.
